The summer exhibition at Lars Bohman Gallery is devoted exclusively to Sven "X-et" Erixson who has become synonymous with Swedish narrative painting from the 1920’s and onwards.

The exhibition focuses on two important periods in Sven Erixson’s artistry. The early works that show great power and ambition and the last works, after 1965 when the artist, marked by illness, returned to an intuitive search for an artistic voice.

Painter and author Lars Lerin in the exhibition catalog:

X-et t is not a pure naivist, but he paints with his heart and he has kept the child's gaze.
He looks beyond the clichés with the ability to take on the most loved motifs and paint them as if they were seen for the first time.

X-et does not avoid the big emotions. Nothing is too high or low, nothing worth more or less. Every element is important and the sense of presence is essential. It really does not matter what the painting depicts. "It is the figurative effect, ie the play between color and form, which is absolutely crucial" This becomes particularly clear in X-et’s last works, made after he suffered from a stroke. - Amazing flowing amoebas and nebulae, galaxies, floral baskets and animal feet.
